Green Ranger Safaris and the Ivory Belongs to Elephants Campaign

Green Ranger Safaris and the Ivory Belongs to Elephants Campaign

The Green Ranger Safaris team joined the Ivory Belongs to Elephants Campaign in 2013. The noble campaign to save our Elephants is headed by the Elephant Neighbors Center and aims at educating the public on issues regarding conservation and the dangers of poaching to our precious wildlife.

Additionally, the campaign aims at practically educating local communities on methods that help in mitigating human-wildlife conflicts. The Elephant Neighbor’s Center, headed by Mr. Jim Nyamu, recently organised a walk to raise funds for this wonderful cause.

The Green Ranger Safaris team among others joined and supported the walk, which begun on 4th June 2016 and ended on 8th October 2016. The total distance covered was 3,200 km.

The walk was flagged off at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) by the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Mrs. Margaret Kenyatta. This is the tenth walk since the commencement of the campaign.

The Green Ranger Safaris team is excited to be part of this noble cause. Please visit the Elephant Neighbors Center website to stay up to date and possibly join us in saving our Elephants.
