Arusha National Park, Lake Chala & Kikuletwa Hot Springs June 2018

Arusha National Park, Lake Chala & Kikuletwa Hot Springs June 2018

We welcome you to join us for the Arusha National Park, Lake Chala & Kikuletwa Hot Springs June 2018 – Madaraka special. This is a 3 day and 2-night safari in June 2018.

Kikuletwa Hot Springs (Swimming and water games – included in the package)

Visit the Hot Springs and experience a very special natural phenomenon where hot water comes up. The water of this source is turquoise blue and crystal clear and invites you to take a refreshing dive.

When you reach Kikuletwa, it will appear as an oasis surrounded by sprawling Fig trees, in the middle of this semi arid landscape. You will see crystal clear water bubbling from underground caves, giving the impression that it is boiling, hence the name “Hot Springs”.

The water is perfectly refreshing and if you brought your swimming costume, this is your time to take a dip and relax in the shade of the trees.

Arusha National Park (Game drives included in the package)

The Arusha National Park is an amazing African park and ideal for day safaris.

Not only is the wildlife in the Arusha National Park abundant, but it is also one of the most beautiful and topographically varied game reserves in Tanzania. The Arusha National Park’s three most significant features include the rugged Mount. Meru (Tanzania’s second highest peak at 4,566 M), the notably different coloured Momela Lakes, and the 3 KM wide Ngurdoto Crater, which was formed about fifteen million years ago! The varied and beguiling animals and flora found in this game reserve are mainly determined by the different altitude and geography of these 3 “zones”.

The transition between unappealing urban chaos and pristine mountain hiking trails is rarely so abrupt as it is in Arusha National Park. The amazing Park has a rich variety of wildlife. Common animals include; Giraffe, Cape Buffalo, Zebra, Warthog, the black-and-white Colobus Monkey, the blue Monkey, Flamingos, Elephant, Lion and many other African animals. Leopard populations are present, but rarely seen. Bird life in the forest is prolific, with many forest species more easily seen here than elsewhere on the tourist route – Narina Trogon and bar-tailed Trogon are both possible highlights for visiting birders.

Lake Chala (Hiking, Swimming and Bird Watching included in the package)

Lake Chala is a crater lake in a caldera on the borders of Kenya and Tanzania on the eastern edge of Mount Kilimanjaro. Depending on the time of year, it ranges in colour from deep blue to turquoise and green, it is surrounded by a 100 Metres high crater rim. The lake is fed by groundwater flows, which come from Mount Kilimanjaro, fed and drained underground with a rate of about 10 Million m³ / year. It is Bilharzia free.

It is a bewitchingly beautiful landscape, completely unsuspected from the plains below. Chala is still paddled over by a few friendly fishermen in their dugouts and is spiritually significant, with Lake Monster stories part of local folklore. From the 100M – high crater rim, it’s a steep descent to the lake and good walking shoes are advised.

The lake has a great diversity of life. Chala has a huge variety of amazing trees, grasses and plants; some are unique to the area. The bird list numbers more than 250 species, including peregrine Falcons, which nest in Chala’s cliff-faces. There are hundreds of species of butterflies and spectacular birds of prey. The African fish Eagle, with its hunting techniques, Verreaux’s Eagle, Augur Buzzards and many other species of birds can be seen around the crater walls. Wild mammals vary from Monkeys to Baboons again from Dik-dik to Kudus and other wild animals.

Lake Chala is a must visit place… Welcome! You requested and we heard you… This is the awesome package! Great Value for your money!
